Vent vs Cushion Paddle Brush: A Wholesale Buying Guide
A paddle shape does not tell you whether a brush is vented or cushioned. For a branded assortment, define the head construction, pin configuration and intended routine separately. An open-grid paddle brush and a cushion paddle brush can sit alongside each other without carrying identical use or performance claims.
Choose the construction before comparing quotations
- Vent or open-grid head: examine the openings, pin supports, head flexibility and grip. If the product is intended for use with a dryer, agree material suitability, operating guidance and the evidence required for any heat claim.
- Cushion head: examine the pin bed, its movement under pressure, pin tips, assembly and cleaning guidance. A cushion by itself does not establish suitability for every hair type or wet-use routine.
- Paddle shape: describe head length, width and profile. “Paddle” describes a form factor and can overlap with either construction; it is not a material specification.
Official branded examples: two ways to define the offer
FROMM Elite Flexer Vent Brush
FROMM describes its Elite Flexer as a vent brush without a cushion, intended for wet detangling, and identifies a ceramic-infused construction. Those are claims for that specific branded model. For an original range, specify the required construction and validate your own approved sample rather than transfer another product’s claims.

FROMM Intuition Paddle Detangler Brush
FROMM positions this model around a cushioned paddle format and routine detangling on wet or dry hair. It shows how a concise product description can connect construction to an intended routine. Buyers can compare the official specification and handling instructions before choosing a branded retail tool.

Tianba catalogue starting points: keep the packing distinct
WB 373 open-grid paddle brush
View Tianba WB 373 specifications →. Catalogue page 99 (D30) lists 200 × 85mm, 120 individual brushes/carton, 59 × 37.5 × 41.5cm. The product view shows an open lattice head. Compare the requested colour, pin configuration, grip and head response on an approved sample.
WB 815 wooden cushion paddle brush
View Tianba WB 815 specifications →. Catalogue page 102 (D33) lists 120 individual brushes/carton, 58 × 45 × 39cm. It does not give this model’s length and width. Catalogue and website photos show different pin appearances, so confirm the pin material, dimensions, cushion and wood finish for the version being ordered.
Both entries list 120 individual brushes, but the carton dimensions differ. The catalogue carton count is neither the minimum order quantity nor a confirmed retail pack. Cards, sleeves, bags and assorted-colour packs need their own component count and quotation.
Turn buying pain points into approval checks
- Similar photos, different handling: retain a reference sample with the head dimensions, pin layout, tip finish and head or cushion response recorded.
- Unsupported performance copy: agree the intended routine and test method before claiming faster drying, heat resistance or reduced breakage. A vent opening or rounded pin tip alone does not prove those results.
- Artwork that describes the wrong version: match front-of-pack names, care guidance, materials and product photos to the approved construction.
- Pack and landed-cost differences: define individual pieces, retail pack count, inner packs, carton quantity and carton size separately. Check the protective pack against pin deformation and presentation requirements.
- Reorders that drift: carry the approved sample reference, colour, material requirements, artwork and packing revision into the next order.

Buyer questions
Is a vent brush always different from a paddle brush?
No. “Vent” describes an open head construction; “paddle” describes the head format. WB373 is an open-grid paddle example. Specify both construction and shape.
Can the same heat or wet-use claim cover all models?
No. Agree the intended use, materials, care instructions and supporting sample checks for each supplied version. Do not copy a branded model’s claims onto another brush.
Do WB373 and WB815 have identical packing?
Both catalogue entries list 120 brushes/carton, but WB373 is 59 × 37.5 × 41.5cm and WB815 is 58 × 45 × 39cm. Confirm retail packing and order minimum separately.
What should a private-label enquiry include?
Send the intended routine, model or drawing, dimensions, pin and head requirements, colour, quantity, target market, proposed claims, artwork and sales-pack units.
